6-Week Rolling Beginners Programme
At YogaUP, we aim to build a community of like-minded people sharing our passion for wellness, health and yoga. And you can be part of it.
There are 28 main forms of yoga ranging from gentle to intense and everything in between. No matter your age or flexibility, yoga is for everyone and doesn’t require much, just a mat and space.
If you’ve never done yoga, however, it may be intimidating to start your first class. That’s why we are introducing a 6 week rolling Beginners Programme to get you started.
The programme is made up of six weekly classes that cover the essential elements of a beginner yoga practice. The programme is designed to allow you to start on any one of the 6 weeks meaning you don’t have to wait for the next course to begin. Each week is a stand-alone class meaning you don’t have to have done the weeks before to benefit. This also means if you have to miss a week for any reason you can pick it up the next time around.
Being a complete workout of both the mind and body, yoga combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation.
This Beginners Programme was designed around the six key components of yoga: Shoulder Opening, Chest Opening and Backward Bending, Hip Opening and Forward Bending, Strength, Twists and Standing Poses.
We will be using the different props that can be expected in our normal weekly classes and we have added weekly workshops around breathing, nutrition and meditation to cover all the essential elements of yoga practice. By the end of the programme, you will have the confidence and knowledge to attend any of our level 1-2 weekly classes.
This programme is taught at our beautiful YogaUP studio in Discovery Bay in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment.
Included in the costs are the 6 classes, 3 workshops, water/coffee/tea at our studio during the workshop, mat and all props during classes. To read more about yoga etiquette, what to wear and what to bring, please click here.
